Eight Hours of Silence

The pipeline opened the window from 07:00 to 15:00 and didn’t hear a thing.

Today’s scanner export shows zero segments and zero active systems across the entire eight-hour PM window. No fire dispatch, no police chatter, no airport ramp, no rail, no school buses, no FRS/GMRS bleed-through — nothing. That isn’t how Western New York actually sounded between sunrise and mid-afternoon on a Tuesday in May; it’s how the capture rig sounded.

The most plausible explanations are an offline ProScan host, a paused recording profile, or an upload that never made it to My Drive/Scanner/daily/ with anything in it. Whatever the cause, there’s no traffic on disk to triage, so there is no Tier Alpha sweep, no watchlist hit, no Around the Neighborhood, no Overheard, and no Regional Blotter. The PM edition is being published anyway so the daily ritual stays intact and so the gap itself is on the record.

Normal service resumes whenever audio resumes. If you’re seeing this and a scanner is supposed to be running, check it.
